Tinker2

Overview

A classic in the R&M catalog, this latest version of the Tinker is our favorite 20″ wheel ebike. The short wheelbase and compact size make it a perfect bike for the city. It’s fun to ride. Hauls up to 44lbs on its rear rack. Easy to take on Link trains. Fits in the back seat of a car. And with a one-size-fits-most design, it is a wonderful bike to share.

A problem with many ebikes in the “city” category is that they aren’t good at climbing hills. They lack the power and gearing for the big stuff you find in Seattle. That’s not the case with the Tinker2. It is equipped with Bosch’s new Smart System version of their Performance Line drive unit with an impressive 75Nm of output torque. The combination of this powerful drive unit and the 380% gear range of the Enviolo hub make the Tinker2 an excellent choice for hilly cities.

Adjustable stem on Riese & Müller Tinker ebike.
The adjustable stem on the Tinker makes this an easy bike to share.

The stem on the Tinker2 allows a wide range of adjustment. It can be pitched fore and aft, moving the handlebar further or closer to the rider. It can also be extended or shortened, raising or lowering the handlebar for the rider. By adjusting the stem and saddle height, the Tinker2 comfortably fits most riders from 4’11” to 6’1″.
