This Saturday, January 14th, is looking pretty nice. The current forecast is 55F and cloudy with a slight chance of rain. That’s downright balmy compared to what we were experiencing a few weeks ago! Let’s take advantage of this great riding weather and ride around Vashon Island together. For those of you who’ve never ridden on Vashon — you are absolutely going to love it! This 37 mile route is a loop around Vashon, with a visit out to Maury Island. We’ll visit the Point Robinson Lighthouse and Lisabeula Park.
We’ll take the 10:20 ferry from Fauntleroy to Vashon. Meet us as the dock, or meet at the shop at 08:30 for a 09:00 roll out. Round trip from the shop is about 58 miles.
The loop around the island should take us less than four hours, so we’ll plan on catching the 16:45 return ferry.
Riders will be required to sign a waiver before the ride, and all bikes will need to pass a safety inspection.
This is an ebike ride. Electric motor required. If you have a Bosch ebike and you need to borrow an additional battery for the trip, let us know in the notes section of the sign up form.
What to bring: A bottle or two of water, snacks and a lunch, rain jacket just-in-case
Cost: Free, but you have to pay $7.25 for the ferry ride, $4.10 for 65+.
